PRESS RELEASE
Maarten Bodewes and Dimitri O co-founded Loop Earplugs at the end of 2016. Nightlife lovers suffering from tinnitus, they sampled every earplug on the market – and were left wanting more. Frustrated and inspired in equal measure, the childhood best friends, both graduated as engineers, left steady jobs behind to embark on a new adventure. Loop was born.
Initially, the brand catered primarily to concert and festival goers, and The New York Times called Loops ‘the best earplugs for concerts.’ Then Covid hit and the company changed course, responding to a growing fan base of users hailing from all walks of life. People relying on Loops for sleep, focus, noise sensitivity, live music, travel, parenting and more.
Loop’s growth has exploded ever since. The company reported revenue of €126.5 million in 2023, tripling their revenue compared to 2022 and sold over 8 million sets to date. Loop Earplugs has been named to Fast Company’s prestigious list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2024, proudly securing the No. 18 spot on the World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies list. Notably, it has achieved the No. 01 spot in the Design category for "designing ear protection people want to wear", marking a significant milestone as the leader in design innovation.
Loop was named the fastest-growing Belgian tech company by the Deloitte Fast 50 in 2022, with sales growth of 15,275% since 2018. Loop was also a LinkedIn Top Start-up in 2022.
There are now over 250 full-time employees at Loop. Winner of the 2022 Employee Engagement Award, the company has now expanded into the Asian market; China, Japan and Southeast Asia. Loop has a headquarter in Antwerp and hubs in Amsterdam, New York and Shanghai.
