Frequently asked questions
Is the Loop Sphere app free?
Yes, completely free to download and use on iOS.
Do I need to own a Loop product to use it?
Nope. Sound readings and white noise work as standalone features without any Loop products. An account lets you link compatible products for a more personalized experience.
Which Loop products work with the app?
The app currently supports Loop Cocoon™ baby earmuffs. More compatible products are on the way.
Is the app available on Android?
Not yet. It’s only available on iOS for now. Android is coming soon.
Are the sound readings accurate?
They're indicative. The app uses your phone's mic to give you an idea of how loud it is around you. Readings may vary by device, mic, and environment. Think of it as a useful guide, not a clinical measurement.
Does the app record audio?
No. The app only measures sound levels. It never records or stores audio. Your mic is active only while you're actively measuring.
Is it safe to use white noise near a baby?
Yes, with a couple of simple steps. Keep the phone at least 6-7 feet (around 2 meters) from your baby's head, start at the lowest volume setting, and increase gradually. If you have to raise your voice to be heard next to the phone, it's too loud.
